The Vortex CNS Rugged File Server Now Offers Type 1 Encryption for Data-At-Rest

The Vortex CNS now offers an option for NSA Type 1 encryption of your critical data-at-rest. Incorporating an encryptor already certified for Secret and Below (SAB), the CNS-T1 option can reduce your technical and schedule risk by leveraging our COTS storage products which are shipping now.

For less critical applications, the standard CNS offers FIPS 140-2 certified encryption in the 1TB Vortex Flash Storage Modules (FSM). With tool-less wedge-locks, these rugged, secure drives are easily removable and transportable.
Successfully tested for deployment on the HC/MC-130J Super Hercules Special Mission Aircraft, the CNS is now at TRL7 and meets all temperature, shock, vibration, and EMI requirements for this demanding application.

Key features include:
• NSA Type 1 certified encryptor for
   Secret and Below (SAB)
• FIPS-140-2 certification
• Industry standard network protocols (NFS, CIFS, FTP, HTTP)
• PXE support  allows network clients to boot from CNS
• 5-second power hold-up to prevent data corruption
• Remote Zeroize of encryption keys
